5 Tips for Capturing More Email Subscribers

A few months back I wrote about the importance of staying focused on email marketing as an integral component of your small business’ overall marketing communications strategy (“Small Business New Year’s Resolution: Don’t Stop Emailing“).

To recap that article’s primary takeaway: “…91 percent of all US consumers still use e-mail daily [source: ExactTarget, 2012 Channel Preference Survey], and the rate at which e-mails prompt purchases is not only estimated to be at least three times that of social media, but the average order value is also 17 percent higher [source: eMarketer, Email Marketing Benchmarks: Key Data, Trends, and Metrics, February 2013].”

So, if the effectiveness of email marketing isn’t in dispute, then your goal should expand beyond simply maintaining your emailing status quo; you should focus on growing your list of subscribers.

And while persuading potential customers to accept yet another solicitation in their inboxes can be challenging, there are actions you can take to greatly increase the likelihood that your messages will appeal to more readers and compel them to subscribe.

In the article “5 Subtle Writing Strategies That Drive Email Signups,” courtesy of the content marketing experts at Copyblogger, the author provides simple tips for ensuring you’re giving yourself the best shot at reeling in as many opt-in subscribers as possible.

From the article:

“Your email list is a group of readers who have chosen to get information from you. They want to hear from you, and you want a large email list that is full of potential clients or customers.

“But how do you gain more email subscribers?”

Check out the above linked article to find out, and then try following the author’s suggestions to see what works for you.

As always, thanks for reading.
