Xerox Indirect Channels Business Group
With so many options in the world of social media, small businesses and individuals have to decide which sites make sense for them and how they will use each to follow and share. I’ve settled on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and now Pinterest for my personal use. I share on Facebook to keep up with friends and family near and far, and check out Twitter for breaking news plus a bit of time wasting as I sometimes get lost out there in the Twittersphere – but that’s another story. I like Pinterest for recipes and travel information, and finally LinkedIn to help me keep up with colleagues and what’s happening in my chosen field.
As you know, the social media space changes at a rapid pace as new sites are introduced and existing sites add new features and updates. One such site is LinkedIn. If you’ve always thought of it as a networking site for recruiters and those looking for a new job or career like I once did, you might want to give this sharing site another look. In addition to a variety of small business groups and news resources, they’ve added company pages and enhanced their search capabilities. Jason Keith, author of The Small Business Blog, provides a great overview of some of the new functions in his post 3 reasons LinkedIn makes sense for small business. And did I mention their membership numbers are over 150 million?
With this in mind, we recently introduced the Xerox company page on LinkedIn. We believe it’s a great way to connect with and engage the large number of professionals on the platform from businesses of all sizes. There are three sections on the page. The Overview section will feature Xerox blog posts, clips of Xerox in the news, as well as daily Xerox updates including videos, product launches, and more to keep our followers up to speed on what’s happening at Xerox. The Careers section has a listing of open positions and job opportunities within Xerox. The Products and Services section features a selected range of our offerings from our technology and services lines of business including those for small businesses.
If your company is not already LinkedIn, consider developing your own company page. In the meantime, we’re eager to improve our new page for our small business customers. Check it out and let me know what you think. Oh, and while you’re there, don’t forget to follow us. We’ll keep you up to date on what’s happening here at Xerox.
